Narcos and Breaking Bad are shows about illicit drug manufacturing. Ozark is about laundering the proceeds from the illicit drug trade. Many shows are about or contain content on illicit drug use. Only one show can bridge the gap between these programs and show the ingenious ways these drugs make it from the manufacturer to their end users around the world.
Salt Lake
Salt Lake City, Utah, provides the ideal setting for the series. The City is located in a beautiful picturesque setting amongst the mountains and Great Salt Lake. The world headquarters for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is located in Salt Lake City. There is also a significant push to support the technology industry within the City and State.
But beneath the clean and shiny exterior, Salt Lake suffers from some of the same ills as the rest of the country, particularly when it concerns drug use and abuse.
Fate intervenes. Every week after church Bob and a group of friends get together under the auspices of going bowling to actually drive to a strip club two hours away. Bob knows the guys from his kid’s school: J. Robert Oppenheimer Academy, a private school in Salt Lake. The friends are total screw up Matt Donaldson, father of one of Bob’s son’s best friends; Steve Chow-White, divorced and beaten down father of twin girls at the school, and the enigmatic Sanj Chopra, IT admin at Oppenheimer.
