Salt Lake businessman Bob Lear manufactures wood coatings that hide a surprising secret… cocaine.
SERIES SYNOPSIS
Narcos and Breaking Bad are shows about illicit drug manufacturing. Ozark is about laundering the proceeds from the illicit drug trade. Many shows are about or contain content on illicit drug use. Only one show can bridge the gap between these programs and show the ingenious ways these drugs make it from the manufacturer to their end users around the world.
Salt Lake
This unique series, based on real events, delves into how Colombian Cartels are always looking for ways to get their drugs through border checks and past customs officials. But in this case, Bob Lear, a businessman from Salt Lake City, Utah, is looking for them.
It seems odd that Bob would even want to do this; from all outward appearances, Bob has the world by the tail. He’s successful, charming, handsome, intelligent, and a respected member of his church and community.
Thing is, it’s all a ruse. Bob has built an empire, true. But it’s built on salt, and it could come crashing down at any moment.
But it’s the salt that just may save him.
Bob’s company is Global Wood Tech, GWT, manufactures protective wood coatings. But these are not traditional wood coatings; this is new technology, one that’s eco-friendly, inexpensive, and they use a proprietary formulation of salts and liquids.
Funny thing is, those salts they use? They look exactly like cocaine. And they ship them in 25kg bags on pallets loaded with 40 bags, and they ship them everywhere. Who’s going to notice if one bag in every five pallets is a different substance?
Bob has to move fast though as the fake world he’s built is starting to collapse. Fortunately, he has a few friends in need of money as much as he is. They make quite the team.
Everything about Bob’s plan seems perfect, but even perfect plans have problems if the team doesn’t stick to the script.
